Ingredients:
For the Meatballs:
1 lb ground turkey
1/2 cup breadcrumbs
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
1 large egg
2 cloves garlic, minced
Salt and pepper to taste
For the Tomato Sauce:
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 onion, chopped
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 can (28 oz) crushed tomatoes
1 teaspoon dried basil
1 teaspoon dried oregano
Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
Prepare the Meatballs:
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). In a large bowl, combine ground turkey, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, parsley, egg, garlic, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
Form the mixture into 1-inch meatballs and place on a baking sheet.
Bake the Meatballs:
Bake the meatballs in the preheated oven for 20 minutes or until cooked through.
Prepare the Sauce:
While the meatballs are baking, heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add onions and cook until softened, about 5 minutes. Add garlic and cook for an additional minute.
Stir in crushed tomatoes, basil, oregano, salt, and pepper. Bring to a simmer and cook for 10 minutes.
Combine and Serve:
Add the baked meatballs to the sauce and simmer for an additional 10 minutes to let the flavors meld.
Serve over pasta, rice, or with crusty bread.
